Gnomes!

For this project i wanted to challenge my self to re-imagine something well Gnowmn in European Folklore, while making sure it remains recognizable. After doing research on the matter i brainstormed a little on how i could re-interpret their iconic features such as the spiky red hat, using the wonderfully captivating "eyes as big as plates" photography by Karoline Hjorth and Riitta Ikonen as reference.

For my gnomes i wanted them to feel intelligent but technologically behind the curve, still able to conjure magic but mainly resorting to weapons and tools crafted from environmental elements for their defense or day to day tasks.
